About Fannie Lou Hamer Library

Welcome to the Fannie Lou Hamer Library! Step into a space where history, learning, and community come together! The Fannie Lou Hamer Library honors the life and legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer, a fearless civil rights leader who changed the course of history. From founding cooperative farms to running for Congress and championing education through Freedom Schools, her vision for a more inclusive America continues to inspire. Just like her favorite song, "This Little Light of Mine," her spirit shines brightly, lighting the way for new generations. At the Fannie Lou Hamer Library, we are committed to keeping that light glowing. In partnership with our dedicated community collaborators, we uplift knowledge, engagement, and the spirit of progress through dynamic and meaningful programs.

Words of Inspiration from Fannie Lou Hamer"Nobody's free until everybody's free."
