About Ella Bess Austin Library
The Terry Library includes a separate children's section, meeting rooms, six computer stations, Internet and Wi-Fi access, and ample parking on the front and back of the building. The Ella Bess Austin Library delights in providing the services of the library system to all patrons including library card registration, book checkouts, computer usage, faxing, copying, and scanning. We also do a drawing for a small prize for new library card users monthly. We have various programs for adults, teens, and children including bingo, paint and sips, story times, movie matinees, and other special programs all year round.
We also offer volunteer opportunities to teens who need community service hours, and we are conveniently located near Terry High School.
We strive to be one of the staples in the community as ambassadors for the Town of Terry, and we are committed to the needs of all patrons not only in Terry but Jackson and Hinds County as well. Come and visit your library and make yourself at home.
The Ella Bess Austin Library hosts a Fall Fest and Spring Fest annually for all ages, has a children's playroom with various STEM activities and games available, and has a CHAN (Community Health Advisory Network) which is an educational health initiative in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Health and Jackson Heart Study to improve individual, family, and community health through coordinating events, special projects, volunteering, fundraising, and other activities.
