To better serve our community, Medgar Evers Library will be adjusting its hours of operation.
We have observed that the branch is most heavily used earlier in the day, while evening traffic has been much lighter. The building has also experienced ongoing HVAC issues where afternoon high temperatures have led to early closures.
In response, we are adjusting hours to:
Monday through Thursday: 9am - 6pm
Friday–Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Closed Sunday
This change is designed to ensure the library is open when it is most used and to allow morning hours to offset unexpected afternoon closures for patrons. We will continue working with the City of Jackson to address the facility issues and will monitor usage as these changes take effect.
