Tutors from Jackson Academy work with K-5 students in reading, math, and other subjects as needed.

Free lessons in the fun, exciting, and stimulating game of chess. Beginners are welcome. All skill levels are welcome. Join us and embark on your journey to learn the strategies and tactics to win. 

Come play some retro video games! We even have board games and card games! All ages are welcome.

The M.W. Alexander Library is excited to announce a partnership with Chantal Taylor to offer a new class: Line Dancing! Line dancing is a fun and effective form of exercise.

Come forage and learn with Jessica Roberts! Discover local plants, what you can harvest right now, and how they’ve been traditionally used. Meet in the children’s area - bring your own finds or explore beforehand!

Adults with preschoolers - join us on Fridays for Reading and Rhythm where everyone gets up and moving!

Would you like to wear something fashion forward, chic and unique that you created by hand?..How about an afghan, a fedora, a simple hat and gloves or create simple crafts? Then this is the creative opportunity for you!

Enjoy fun stories based on weekly themes and complete fun crafts each Wednesday and Saturday.

Join us for an afternoon of sewing...no matter what your skill level, you can learn an important life skill that will allow you to create your own style or simply use fabric as functional art. We meet every Saturday at 1pm.

Discover the joys of tabletop gaming from character sheets and classes to ability scores and modifiers! After character creation, we'll take the characters on a brief one shot! Ages 15 and up!

The Hamer Gratitude Wall is a vibrant space where all ages can share appreciation, celebrate kindness, and strengthen community connections.

Sign up and receive a rubber duck of your own to decorate. Turn it back in on or by April 25 and your duck will be judged during National Library Week. Winners will be notified on May 2.

Celebrate National Library Week at the Willie Morris Library! Check out staff picks for all ages and complete fun handouts and crafts all week long. Vote for winners of our Duck Decorating Contest! On April 27th, receive a pack of Gummi Bears.
